Outlook 2012: The new consumer: changes ahead and business opportunities

The results of this research show that both the current debt and consumption crisis are a symptom of a more significant phenomenon, involving a social transformation whose comprehension is essential in order to focus on innovation and business in the future. In other words, nothing will ever be the same. This study analyzes in depth how will consumption be in 11 sectors of activity: food, home equipment, technology, entertainment, health, tourism, banking and insurance, transportation and energy, personal equipment, communication and media, and retail.

To that end, Creafutur has carried out during one year a qualitative fieldwork with 15 focus groups, 45 ethnographic and in depth interviews with consumers and also a quantitative research with 3.500 interviews in different countries such as: Brazil, China, Germany, Sweden, France, USA and Spain.

IT was presented on May 16, 2012 at ESADEFORUM. The Honorable Councilor Mas-Colell gave the keynote speech and renown personalities of business and academic world attended the conference.
